Honours

This thesis interrogated theoretical aspects of sustainability as highlighted by an investigation of community gardens in Sydney, combined with an assessment of stakeholder collaboration and institutional support structures. The thesis applied theoretical perspectives from permaculture and actor network theory to develop several frameworks for action concerning urban sustainability, seeking to make such action accessible, relevant, flexible and transparent. The thesis was completed in 1999, awarded the Jim Rose Prize for Honours in Human Geography in 2000 and was made available online at http://www.thirdangel.com/sustainability shortly after the degree was awarded.
